My main purpose of buying this product was a combination of a phone guard and a screen holder, which is no longer the case. So if you screen your phone a lot like me and count on the holder quality, KEEP SCROLLING!
This particular version seems quite a bit thicker and more robust, but is definitely cast aluminum and not milled billet. At this price point, you aren’t going to get anything better.
The previous version had issues with the screws loosening and dropping out, once. I’ve not had that issue with this case after 3 months, but if they come loose I will do as I did with the other and put a small amount of thread locker on them.
My issue with the screws is that they aren’t recessed into the frame, and so when lying flat on a table the phone rests entirely on the bottom screws. It’s mostly a non-issue but they occasionally snag a thread and could possibly scratch a wooden table, and otherwise might wear down or get damaged. At this point they’ve been worn down to silver, but holding firm.
My only other minor complaint with this product is that I’m afraid that, like my old version, it will last until the company is no longer making it, and the rubber bumpers will wear down to nothing. I appreciate the 2 extra screws in the box, but 4 extra bumpers would super helpful instead of 2!
This is an excellent product and OATBASF makes the most stylish minimalist cases in my opinion. I waited months for them to release this one so I could get it and throw away the ugly plastic crap I was using before. Definitely recommend!
Ordered this and it took ten days to arrive, and was broken by day 2 of it being on my phone. The ring on the back that acts as a kickstand is nice but poorly constructed. Has a hinge with tiny set screws into the case but seemingly just kind of melted onto the ring so it popped on unfolding it.
It also had trouble charging on MagSafe chargers through this ring since it’s moveable.
So far, I am very happy with this case. Love how minimalistic it is. It covers and protects the important parts of my device. It does add a little more weight to the phone, but it feels good in the hand.
The case came in a few different pieces with no instructions included on how to connect it together. It was pretty easy to figure out, but I think instructions would be helpful.
So also comes with a screen protector and back protector. I already had a privacy screen protector on my device but did use the back protector which fit perfectly and added a nice texture to the back of the phone. It also helps keep you from leaving a lot of fingerprints on the back of the device.
The magnet is also strong and connects easily with my wireless chargers.
Now I haven't dropped my phone or anything since using this case, but I do feel confident that it will protect my device.
